Go where no gospel witness exists within ethnic groups and sub-communities. Pioneer gospel ministries are still needed throughout the state, both in remote rural villages and in the growing "urban villages" of Alaska Native peoples and diverse ethnic communities. In this ministry you'll be faced with the challenges of learning another culture, understanding a different worldview, building relationships through involvement in people's lives, and seeking to communicate the gospel in an understandable way.
Impact communities and disciple believers through relationships. There are many communities in both the rural villages and the "urban villages" where believers exist, yet are in need of growth and maturity in their faith. By focusing on discipleship, you'll help encourage change in people's lives as well as help develop Native leaders who can impact their own communities for Christ. You'll face the challenges of learning a new culture, understanding a different worldview, building genuine and caring relationships with people, and walking alongside them to see them grow in their knowledge and love for Christ.
