Thomas grew southeast Louisiana and Mississippi. After studying music in college, he began to feel burdened for the former Soviet Union. After taking several short trips to Ukraine and Russia, he began studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi where he met Cristy. They were married in 2003 and served in a local church doing youth and music. They joined InterAct Ministries in 2005 and began making plans to move to the mission field. In 2011 they faced the difficult decision to return to the States in order to better care for their oldest son who has special needs. After about a year of basing their ministry out of their home in Mississippi they felt called to move to Oregon for Thomas to serve out of InterAct’s U.S. office as Communications Director. Thomas' responsibilities include telling the story of what God is doing on on the fields through print, visual and digital media, as well as serving field missionaries in a number of ways. He also helps in the areas of recruitment, technical support, Bible evaluations for new missionaries, and has helped with training and discipleship of new staff. They have four children, Isaiah, Nadia, Lily, and Stephen.
In August 2019 Thomas resigned from InterAct to join the pastoral staff at Faith Baptist Fellowship in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
